Alastair, Eleanor, Nigel, Mo and Ginny went down Hand Carr Lane off Scout Road to add cross- pieces to a fence to give access to the attractive path beyond. One treadboard with supports was added, but a return visit will be needed for another one. Several waymarks were added on surrounding paths.
Work funded by Sowerby Residents Association who secured funding from the Tesco Bags for Help scheme.
LUDDENDEN FOOT
Ken, Catherine, and Frank S continued work on the path above Mill Stream Drive in Luddenden Foot. The path needed two more revetments to hold up the edge. Here's one before and after.

Here's the second revetment.
In other places we dug out the upper side of the bank to move the path away from the edge.
We then moved on to a path higher up the valley where a local resident had reported a drainage problem. The stream flowing into an old mill pond passed through railings that acted as a screen to collect leaves and other debris. This made the water overflow onto the path and wash it away.
In getting down to the mill pond we cleared two flights of stone steps and cut back some of the longest bramble stems we'd ever seen!
