WALSDEN, PEACOCK LANE AND BLACKSHAW HEAD

Several groups out today.  Peter and Ginny worked on the steep path from Peacock Lane up to Allescholes.  3 marker posts had apparently been pulled out and others needed stabilising.

The bilberries were cut back and some good wide steps discovered underneath.

and a ditch dug to take away the water.

Ian and Nigel repaired a stile at Daisy Bank Clough on Blackshaw 44.  The old post had rotted away at ground level and one of the treads had also rotted. The hardest bit was digging out the old post which we then replaced with a new 2.4m length of 100mmx100mm post, and connected it up to the other existing post with new cross pieces. The old lower tread was removed and replaced with a new one.
