CROW NEST WOOD, HEBDEN BRIDGE

With the sounds of the Duck Race wafting up from the centre of town, Ian and Rich dealt with a fallen tree and waymarking.

A large beech tree had fallen across the path, blocking it entirely.

Before and after treatment with bow saws

One bi-product of this work was to reveal a patch of bluebells which should be a joy in a couple of weeks
This delightful path doesn't seem to be used that much, partly to do with no waymarking to indicate its existence.

With a yellow top marker post, hopefully people will now know the path is there
The path we worked on is the one with the arrow on it - a nice way to get up to Old Chamber
CROWS funded this work.

If you have walked in Crow Nest woods you will know that some of the paths are very badly scoured. We are working with Calderdale Highways to deal with the water problem, but it's very complicated!!
