WIDDOP

Ken, Gerald, Frank S. and Ginny headed for Widdop.  On the way, we used coach screws to fasten a Pennine Way finger post, which was leaning on the wall, into an upright position so it pointed to Walshaw and Hebble Hole.

At the far end of Widdop reservoir the bridge crossing the incoming stream had several rotten planks.

Ken and Frank repaired these -

and then came to join Gerald and Ginny on drainage work.  Previous jobs digging channels had worked quite well,

but a very boggy area needed needed another channel to be dug.  Hard work, but it was a lovely sunny day with wonderful views ... when leaning on spades!

On the way back, we added information about the 906 bus walks to the display board by the reservoir car park.

Today's work was funded, in part, by Heptonstall Parish Council.
