TODMORDEN
Gerald & Mick cut back overhanging tree blocking Todmorden 112 at Walsden and discovered clapper post is rotten & needs replacing (on future work list).
Gerald and mick completed drainage work on Todmorden 102 - on Bacup Road (usual problem). Then finished off stiles that Ken & Peter worked on at Todmorden 120 at Inchfield.
Bernard and Frank S worked on some steps and drainage at Penny Lan.
BLACKSHAW
Ken and Nigel fixed a broken gate and carried out some drainage work on the Calderdale Way at Blackshawhead.
When we arrived it was a chaotic scene of a broken and rotten gate post, a massive walling stone lying on the ground (probably being inappropriately used as a stepping stone!) and broken wire fence.
After we finished, the large stone was returned to the wall, a new gate post was installed and the gate re-instated and the fence was put back. Waymarks and "dogs on leads" signs were reinstated. Finally mud was scraped from around the site and on the footpath below the site and some stepping stones were relayed with Ken providing the blue gate fastener!
Ginny and Rich (after emergency timber run) worked on a path up Hippins Clough. Lovely stream-side path but with lots of current drainage problems. Bit of cutting back done.
Need to go back and continue along the path - lots more to do.
