RIPPONDEN, BLACKWOOD COMMON above MYTHOLMROYD

A very cold but bright day ..... Ginny, Bernard, Ruth, Ken, Gerald , Eleanor were out ( and Lynda transported some tools at the start of proceedings). Today's main jobs were re-siting and stabilising 6 finger posts and doing a bit of cutting back - all work identified whilst doing bridleway marking earlier in the year.

This post on Cote Road, Ripponden was rotten and couldn't be salvaged so Bernard and Ken put in a new short post and nailed on the flag which was found in the undergrowth nearby! ( Apologies for poor photo of flag! It was in pristine condition!), This was the second of 2 posts they re-set on Cote Road.

Meanwhile .....

Gerald and Ginny digging a hole to put in this abandoned finger post on Ripponden Old Lane

Three more posts now upright

Ruth and Eleanor put in this small marker post with BW markers at a junction of this network of bridleways.

Strong Man Bernard wielding another BW post before he and Ken re-sited it at the edge of Blackwood Common.

Ginny, Ruth, Gerald and Eleanor did some lopping and cutting back on another bridleway off Long Causeway before bitter cold stopped play!
