Bernard and Nigel were tasked with clearing loose stone and other debris which was diverting a stream from a well constructed culvert near Dean Farm, Gauxholme, Todmorden.
Water by-passing collapsed culvert |
The debris was also undermining the abutments of a huge stone slab bridging the stream and carrying footpath 111 (Todmorden).
Collapse of culvert cleared |
The culvert was cleared for the stream to flow back in its original channel and repairs were also undertaken to timber-work at the side of the bridge to make it safer to cross.
Water now passing safely under footbridge |
Later we joined Mick and installed waymark posts across the fields on footpaths 111 and 112 at Gauxholme. The paths are part of a route described in Chris Goddard's book.
