PATH OFF LONGLEY LANE NORLAND

There were 7 out today. Rich, Ruth and Eleanor did some serious cutting back of holly. Fred & Frank did lots of heavy-duty digging and some major sawing of holly to widen the path. Sue and Bernard, as well as cutting back, installed a marker post and constructed some steps. An elite squad of highly trained combat flies were an added challenge!

Before we started

After a severe haircut and a bit of scraping
You could barely get long this path before
Walkers can now get along path without snagging on the barbed wire or being attacked by holly. Still more to do.

No pics from other group yet, but they will return next week for more cutting back, the rebuild of a stile and the construction of additional steps. Hard work but very worthwhile. Positive comments already from local resident who had reported the work and the route is part of one of the Walk from the Village walks, so it should be well walked.
