HEPTONSTALL

Frank and Fred (later joined by Bernard
and Dave) created steps down Lee Bank
(just off the 'Heptonstall by-pass').

Path (before)
The path descended steeply over tree roots and sloping boulders and was very slippery.

It had deteriorated significantly since the survey in November partly because it had seen some (illegal) use by mountain bikers.
Path (work in progress)

LUDDENDEN

DavePaul, Stella & Stuart returned to complete work by a path where we have done quite a lot of work in recent months.  The iron railings around the large sinkhole which channels water under the path are no longer fit for purpose, creating a potential hazard to walkers which had been temporarily fenced off with netting. Today we erected a wooden fence around the sinkhole, and did some more work to the stream bed and sinkhole  itself to try to prevent (very regular) blockage and flooding to the path.
