BEAUMONT LANE, DICK'S LANE & LUDDENDEN

3 teams today
DICKS LANE AND JOHNNY'S GAP
Dick, Frank, Fred and Rich

Exodus Trekking bags are great for carrying tools and materials up to the job!

After any rain the path is blocked by a pool of water right across the lane, so the plan was to make a raised path next to the wall using loose stone lying around.

Putting in revetment to make a stone path

Also we put in a few stepping stone on other wet stretches, so now it's walkable.

The finished product - should keep your feet dry
Meanwhile at Johnny's Gap, 3 existing marker posts were re-erected and one new post was put in.

Finger post lying around and with end rotted off

Re-erected, slightly shorter version.

Also did a recce of the boardwalk job for next week

RE-FLOODED PATH AT LUDDENDEN

Graham Dave and Stuart

Culvert blocked again running over the path.

After much effort we managed to clear the obstruction and the
water started to flow again.

We replaced the netting around the hole.

Long term we felt that the same problem will re-occur unless some new pipework is installed.

Stuart used material out of the stream to construct
a path through the boggy stream-side section.

Digging out gravel for the path.
BEAUMONT LANE, PINNACLE LANE AND PATH OFF HORSEHOLD ROAD

Beamont Lane forms part of the Pennine Way loop and it needed a fair bit of drainage work doing on it - might need to be an annual task.
Pinnacle Lane is a bit of a mess, difficult to see how you could resolve the drainage problem, long term. Managed to get some of the water off the pass making it easier to navigate.
Half way down Horsehold Road a path goes off to the left, down to the canal. Marker post put in.
