First full day on creating a pitched stone path so people don't have to wade through mud when it rains. First many thanks to Ged and Monica Haley for letting us do this work and even more so for providing the stone.
The first job was shifting some of the stone to the site using sack trucks which we had begged and borrowed..

The hardy team of truckers
Once we had lots of stone in place, we set about creating two sections of path. It's a bit like doing a jigsaw but with pieces that weigh 10 kg. Plenty of wedging to secure the stones and some gravel to fill in the gaps.
The first stretch of about 10 metres
The whole stretch done with a gap in the middle and spare stones stacked up.
Still loads to do and not sure we have all the resources to complete the job, but we will return next week.
