Redacre, Jumble Hole and Hippins

A complicated day with in effect 4 work parties!

JUMBLE HOLE
Rich and Dick worked from the top of Jumble Hole, cutting back fallen trees and repairing a stile.

Dave, Fred, Richard J worked from Cow Bridge, putting in marker post and cut back 6 fallen trees over the route.

Then we all met for lunch. After a very long discussion, Dave Richard J and Fred went back down Jumble Hole to waymark and widen the path in places.

HIPPINS
Dick, Gerald and Rich prepared the ground on the muddy path by Hippins. We took out the existing stepping stones, leveled the land in preparation for laying the new wider stones.

 Before

After (doesn't look very different, but a lot of nettles were pulled up too)

RED ACRE WOOD
In the meantime, Graham, Frank and Bernard went to Red Acre Wood to sort out a slippery bank, a broken Stile and some missing slats on a board walk.
Cut back vegetation from around stile to Boardwalk.

Damaged section to repair.

We replaced the damaged section.

Replaced damage upright on stile and refit the step board.

Cutting back bramble alongside the stile.

Sorting stone to use as steps after crossing the stream.

Bernard adjusting a step.

A bit of re-vegetation after the steps were finished.
