Eight of us trudged out from Higham to the path which runs from Burnt Acre Wood to Height Gate Farm and then on round Edge End Moor. Bernard, Dave, Dick, Frank, Fred, Gerald, Graham & Stella, with spades, azads and waymarking kit, out to improve the path for Calderdale Long Distance Walkers.   Several sections were clogged, boggy and overgrown.  In one place an old telephone pole was deeply embedded in the reeds and mud and the path was impassable, forcing walkers along the top of a broken wall or up a steep bank.
