CROWS : Richard J, Richard P, Frank, Gerald and Terry
Task : Widening and cutting back work on footpath for CLDWA.
This was the state of the footpath at the beginning of the climb.
We decided to walk to the top of the footpath and work our way down. We thought this might be the top but no.........................................this was the path at the top!!! Our remit was to widen it ready for 400 walkers.

As we tried to widen the path we found rocks to the right and to the left..................revetment!!!
...................and under a carpet of roots.................hardcore.
The next section down looked just as daunting with the path almost completely overgrown.
Cutting through this vegetation was one of the hardest jobs I have come across with CROWS.

However, when you look at the end result you have to say it was worth the effort.
Meanwhile, Richard J was clearing a flight of steps and what a good job he did.

Richard P was working his way downhill cutting back the undergrowth..............from this.........
.................to this.
There is still more work to do on the path. There are some sections which need widening but most of the cutting back and waymarking has been done.
