Several jobs to do....
At the junction with Old Lane, vegetation narrowing the path, so all cut back
Water running across the track, churning up the surface. The problem was the stream bed was clogged so water was running down the bank on to the track. The stream bed was cleared out so all the water is now going into the drain. Hopefully this will solve the problem and the track surface will dry out
The rest of the track had several muddy bits which were all scraped out.
There was a lot of vegetation encroaching on the the edge of the path (including saplings) and there were some low hanging branches from mature trees (not good for horse riders). These were all cut back and the soft vegetation removed from the surface, making the path much wider.
We got about halfway along, so a further work party will be needed. We will consult Luddenden Civic Society about whether they want the dips in the path topped up with aggregate to prevent the muddy bits reappearing.

The newly cleared stream bed (it doesn't look much, but there's lots of water going down it)

One of the muddy bits of the track.
A stretch that has been widened and scraped
