Gorpley Clough and Walsden for Todwalkers bus walks

Mick and Eleanor worked over in Walsden on cutting back and sorting out some revetment.

Gerald, Peter and Rich worked on a drainage problem in Gorpley Clough.

The drain was overgrown and silted up,
so the water was seeping on to the path.

In some places the drain was non existent.

The sink hole was choked with rubble

The sink hole is cleared and a new drainage channel cut

The remaining channel was dug out, but there is still some seepage on to the path
so it will need revisiting to see if our works will have cracked the problem
or whether we need to put in a pipe.

While we were there, we cut back an uprooted tree root that was blocking part of the path.
