Location : Eastwood, Todmorden (group 1)
CROWS : Graham, Gerald, Fred and Terry (group 1)
                Dick and Dave (group 2)
Bernard, Richard J, Stella and Richard P (group 3)

Task : Group 1 Level and widen footpath through woodland section of this path (Parrock Wood) and check drainage and cutting back on higher footpath.

Gerald and Fred deciding who was doing what.

Gerald getting on with the task of clearing the path.

The next section was very narrow and sloping in some places it was difficult to determine what was the path and what was the banking.

The next section had overhanging Holly bushes which needed cutting back so a drainage problem       could be sorted..

                                                     Fred cutting back the vegetation.
                                                  Terry excavating the path surface.
                                                                      More excavation.
On one section we uncovered revetment which gave an edge from which to widen the path.

A before and after photograph shows the amount of work to widen and level the footpath.
However as the picture shows it was rewarding work to do.
                                                                  Much improved path
A better surface to walk on with less chance of slipping into the stream
Here Fred and Gerald are finishing the final section back to the stile.
A task well done giving better access to a charming wooded valley.

We added a couple of waymarks after speaking to the landowner.
Clearing the turnby where the footpath left the metaled roadway.

We also checked out the footpath through Burnt Acre Wood where we patched and way- marked         a stile.

A great path with stunning views of the Calder valley.
Dave and Dick were working further down the valley at Underbank, somewhere in the trees.

A couple of way marker signs were needed to direct walkers onto the footpath.
