Bridleway from Midgehole dyeworks to Peckett Well

This is a well used sunken paved path which has become over grown and with several inches of mulch under foot. This will be at least a couple of days work to complete the total length. Part of of the cause of the mulch problem was that a culvert at the top had become blocked causing water to run down the full length of the path and with all the turn-byes silted up the water gathered speed and brought all the mulch with it.

The bottom section of the path with all the vegetation cut back
and the paved surface mostly exposed

Higher up the stone surface is exposed

Drain almost completely blocked, now cleared out

Drain silted up so water coming over the top, now able to run clear

Clogged up with holly and silt, no way for the water to flow under

 Water overflowing from the drain
