WEDNESDAY 9TH AND FRIDAY 11TH WORK PARTIES

Friday 9th July

Path below Burlees Lane dilapidated stile making it almost impassable

After the holly cut back and stile repaired.

Further cutting back of the holly will have to wait due to a very active wasps nest, they weren't happy!

Meanwhile the other team went up towards the Mount Skip to a path at Daisy Bank which had disappeared! Here's a before and after..

The path is somewhere here!

We weren't expecting to find steps.

Then on to another disappeared path at the top of Midgley Road, this time completely impassable because of nettles.

If you look carefully, you will see a bench in here!

Path now accessible and just out of the picture is the bench uncovered, but there is no view, so we think it needs moving.

We also cleared the steps of woodland detritus which made them a bit scary going down (if you got through the nettles!).

Friday 11th July

Steep Lane allotments, Hebden Bridge - repairing a path where three parts were eroding making them dangerous. Secured by installing three lengths of revetment.

Meanwhile a second group cut back a path from Nutclough (Hebden Bridge) to Club Houses and then moved on to some very overgrown paths on the estate at the top of Walker Lane, Old Town.
One of the two marker posts was also installed on the way down to the Stairway to Old Town.
