After acting as porters for the stile-building crew, Neil M, Gareth & Mick spent the rest of the morning erecting some yellow-topped posts on a footpath down from Hartley Royd to Vale.
The line of the right of way becomes very hard to follow lower down, being easily confused with the many sheep runs on the hillside which lead to dead ends. Six yellow-topped posts will now make it easier to follow the actual public footpath down to Frieldhurst Road. The path is another stretch of the Fielden Trail, devised by Jim Jarratt in 1988, which we hope to waymark in the near future (donations welcomed!).
