UPPER EASTWOOD and BARKISLAND

Two teams out today

Team 1 - Ian, Nick and Ginny returned to find the drain which went under the bridge on the CW near to Butts Farm.  More digging didn't work, so the distance to the blockage was measured and a new hole dug which proved to be the drain we were searching for!

Large stones had to be found to protect the hole and avoid people falling into it!

And now the water flows into the beautifully built drain and emerges under the bridge on the other side.

Further up the Calderdale Way some hawthorn needed cutting back.

And down Matthew Lane a waymark was added to last week's post and a bit of drainage work and some stones improved access to the stile.

Another wonky photo of a perfectly straight post!

Last job was to add a yellow top post to a route below Great Rock which was not obvious.

Someone needs a new camera

Meanwhile Team 2 - Bernard, Lynda and Eleanor tackled 3 very overgrown paths in Barkisland in response to a request from a local resident. Apologies that there are no photos because of a technical glitch! If I get it resolved I'll add photos later!
The local residents were so grateful that they could use the paths again that they made some very generous donations. Thank you.

Following a survey of the area more work has been identified. We shall be back..................................................................................
