BEAUMONT CLOUGH, EASTWOOD

The plan was for Nigel and Ken to build a boardwalk over a small stream that crosses the path through Horsehold Woods, just before Beaumont Clough.  Six of us assembled to help with the carrying of timber.

It was a 15 minute walk and we were all well soaked by the time we got there:-  it was not the best day to be building a boardwalk over a 'small stream'!

Further on, the stepping stones in the clough  need some work before it's possible to cross!!

We returned to the place where people had obviously been partying, and collected 4 bags of rubbish before we went home to dry out.  Hopefully the boardwalk can be completed before too long!

(The woods looked lovely when the sun came out!)

Work funded by Calderdale Highways Dept.

After it was all over (the following day), Ginny and Rich walked out paths above Eastwood to do some waymarking and planning for future work parties.

One of 8 waymarks put up
