Ginny and Ian spent the day cutting back footpaths. First was the path from Nutclough Woods leading to Stoodley View.

We then checked out a path, near Chiserley in Old Town, which was very overgrown. We cut some of this back with hedge trimmers and shears, but it needs more work with strimmers.
Finally, we pulled some balsam and did some cutting back on a path near Woodhouse Road in Todmorden.

Work funded by individual donations.
Meanwhile Frank S, Mo, Gerald, Nigel and Eleanor finished off work from the previous Friday on the lovely path from the Kilnhurst estate to Lumbutts Road.
Meanwhile at the top end of the path more work to be done…..
Gerald takes a break ……
And Mo puts the finishing touches to the bottom section of this gorgeous path.
Meanwhile, higher up the route, Frank S and Nigel put in this post at the junction of 2 paths – one a link-path to the
Calderdale Way.
They then waymarked the path as it emerged from the top of the wood to lead across fields towards Causeway Farm and Lumbutts Road.
It needed a post to be seen over the brow of the hill for walkers coming down the field.

Part of the job was near the Oldroyd
cottages. Underneath the jungle of nettles and brambles is the old
sunken path. The cows were very interested in us.
Light at the end of the tunnel! Taken from the bottom of the path….

We spoke to a local dog-walker who said in all the years he’d walked his
dog across the field, he didn’t know the path through the woods was there.
Hopefully he’ll spread the word!
