COTTON STONES, RIPPONDEN

Re-visiting the bridleway off Kennel Lane.

The old pack-horse route, now a bridleway, is in the middle of the map
 Two jobs:

Bernard and Steve replaced an unsafe plank bridge with a much more substantial crossing.

The old plank bridge, partly split at one end - scary!

Getting the frame in place

The final bridge with staples to add grip
Lynda, Ruth and Rich worked on the second job continuing to widen the path, cutting back the bilberry and clearing the path surface.

A narrow section of path before widening

A stretch of stone surface revealed

Ruth on the way back in horizontal mizzle!
Work was also done on the top section (brambles and an overhanging branch), but there was not enough time to completely finish the path widening. Another short visit is needed to finish it off.

Work was funded by Ripponden Ward Forum.
